The Harvest Basket

Real organic food, no labels, certification or packaging.

It's a trust system & the custodians of this garden trust me. I record how much food I get from the garden.

I only pick what I need. That is only what I can eat before the food dies.
Eating fresh means harvesting more often, I like that, harvesting is my favourite part of gardening.

The more often you're in the garden the more connected you are to it, the more is revealed to you and the more you see. Things like how fast the plants are growing and which ones need help.

Sometimes there is only a few hours to notice a cabbage moth before it lays its eggs. If they hatch and the grubs get going, they can destroy a bed of kale overnight that could provide food for months.

A ripe strawberry don't last long either before a kid or a bird gets it.

I have just been out in the garden too. The sweet peas are starting to flower, everytime I look, another flower has appeared. I am waiting for my seedlings to sprout.
